Evaluation

Hi Girls,
We are winding up on the research for the Girls Health in Girls Hands Project and you did a great job. For those of you that have not received the full $500 (as long as you've participated fully) - I'll have the remainder of your stipend soon.

We need you to complete 2 surveys as soon as possible. They are quick and can be done on Survey Monkey. Here are the links:

You can also find them on our website: www.girlshealthgirlshands.com

So what's next? The official project is just about complete. We may be asking some of you to do some more presentations. And my official role as project manager is about over. That doesn't mean that we can't continue working on ways to implement the things you want to do in your community. Both the Women's Fund (Tobi Marcus and a tremendous network) and I can support you but you need to lead if you want something specific in your community.

A committee is working on using all of the data you compiled to put together some of the strategies and supporting the policy changes. The presentation to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors raised lots of attention and the Board directed staff to focus efforts on supporting Girls Health. Also - they discussed talking with the school districts to help support the changes you recommended.

I miss you all and hope to stay in contact.

I've been thinking that each team needs to do their own local movie - what do you think?

GH2 Research Findings Presentation at CSUMB

Hosted at the University Center of CSUMB, our presentation went very well this afternoon. All the teams were represented.

I felt very fortunate to represent the Salinas group and speak in front of everyone.
We told our audience (public policy makers, public health officials, education leaders, representatives from non-profit organizations, etc.) what we learned in our project, why it's important, and our recommendations for the future.

We were highly praised, and our information was welcomed. Everyone embraced us, our project, and what we had to say.  Our video was shown, and afterwards we got to answer questions from the audience and mingle with everyone.

Thank you for a great afternoon!
